WWE SmackDown 6/28/24 Dark Results From MSG: Kayla Braxton Says Goodbye To WWE, Cody Pays Tribute To Dusty, Jey Uso vs. Finn Balor In A Street Fight, WWE Speed Matches, Miz & Truth vs. Pretty Deadly

Xavier Woods pinned Nathan Frazer in a WWE Speed Match before SmackDown. This will air on X in the coming days. It set up an immediate WWE Speed Title Match.

WWE Speed Champion Andrade pinned Xavier Woods after The Message in a match to air on X.

R-Truth and The Miz defeated Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince and Kit Wilson) in a dark match after SmackDown by double pins after a pair of Attitude Adjustments like they have been doing on opponents in dark matches and houseshows.

Jey Uso pinned Finn Balor in a Street Fight after a spear into a table set up in a corner of the ring. This was the dark match main event.

WWE Undisputed Universal Champion Cody Rhodes came out after the matches. He said a lot has changed in WWE over the last year or so but the company always has a wonderful team and crew to put on shows. He said a member of the WWE team is leaving. He asked the crowd to give Kayla Braxton an MSG send off. Braxton came out and seemed surprised. The fans chanted “Thank You, Kayla!” at her. She said she came to the company 8 years ago and the fans accepted her despite being an outsider who didn’t know very much at the time. She said they quickly took her in and showed her the ropes. She said these have been some of the best days of her life because of the WWE fans. She thanked everyone and told them she loved them.

Rhodes then went to the ring and talked about Dusty Rhodes defeating Superstar Billy Graham here at MSG in the late 1970’s. He said Dusty held up the title belt as if he had won it but the referee took it away from him moments later (Dusty Rhodes defeated WWWF Champion Superstar Billy Graham by Count Out in that match). Rhodes said he wanted to pay tribute to the moment by posing with the title in the in the exact same way in the same corner of the ring. He said this is where the story began and now nobody can take it away from him or Dusty. He said he wanted to win the title ever since he was a little kid after seeing what happened to Dusty. He had a ring crew member hand him off something in a pouch. He opened it and it was the old school WWWF Heavyweight Title that Dusty tried to win from Graham. He climbed up the ropes and held it over his head like his father did decades ago.

Stephanie McMahon was at the show sitting in a section by the production area. She had a big beaming smile on her face watching the show.
